TAG's projects advocate for advancing research on HIV and how it causes disease, including its deadly coinfections, on preventive technologies including vaccines, and improving access to treatment and information for all people with HIV worldwide.
There are currently five project areas:
- Antiretroviral treatment for HIV infection
- Hepatitis C and hepatitis B infection in people with HIV
- Basic science of HIV infection, with emphasis on the immune system, and preventive technologies, such as vaccines, microbicides and chemoprophylaxis.
- Tuberculosis disease in people with HIV
- Federal policy advocacy
