U.S. and Global Health Policy Co-Director
Suraj Madoori is TAG’s U.S. and Global Health Policy Co-Director. In this role, he co-directs the organization’s cross-cutting policy-advocacy on HIV, hepatitis C, tuberculosis, and allied policy issues. He collaborates closely with the policy team, policymakers, advocates and community stakeholders to advance TAG’s policy, legislative and regulatory priorities. Suraj first joined TAG in 2016 as Senior Health Policy Officer.
A native Chicagoan, Suraj extensively worked in the city as a journalist, organizer, and a case manager for LGBTQ HIV-positive youth at Howard Brown Health. His entrance into health and human rights activism came with the HIV Prevention Justice Alliance and the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, where he held several roles managing federal policy and advocacy. Suraj holds three graduate degrees in journalism, public health, bioethics and health policy, and was an Albert Schweitzer Fellow. In his spare time, Suraj enjoys writing poetry and letters, photography, and running but has mostly been trying to keep up with his new activist son.
