Richard Lynn has a B.A. in chemistry from Cornell and a Ph. D. in chemistry (focusing on enzymology) from Harvard. After graduate school, he moved back to NYC where he quickly found his way to ACTUP, where he was an active member of the Treatment and Data Committee.  While part of T&D,  he was the editor of the Treatment and Data Digest and contributed to many Treatment Agendas and Countdown Eighteen Months.  He also was one of the organizers of “Storm the NIH” demo and spent many a happy weekend doing Immunology and science teach-ins for eager activists.

Rich has been active in TAG since its first meeting in 1992.  He was invited to join the board in 1998 and served in various capacities until leaving the board earlier this year.  He also served on the  Scientific Advisory Committee of the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AMFAR).

He writes opera reviews and articles on the state of the opera industry at parterre box, the queer opera zine founded by AIDS Activist James Jorden.

Rich is married to Joseph Evall an attorney in NYC and previous RIAA awardee.  They recently celebrated their 41st Anniversary together.
