Communications Director

Adam Ortega is TAG’s director of communications and joined the organization in March 2026. He spearheads the entire marketing lifecycle at TAG including graphic design, copyediting, email marketing, photography, and more. 

Previous to TAG, Adam worked as director of communications for a public health and social services organization that provides behavioral and physical health care to New Yorkers living with mental disorders. He’s worked in a variety of nonprofits, including a brief stint in Alaska working alongside Indigenous communities in the climate justice movement. There he helped pass critical legislation that banned toxic chemicals from firefighting foams. Adam grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and studied at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and holds a degree in journalism and media communications. Before moving, he worked as a digital producer and journalist for his hometown NPR station.

In his free time, Adam enjoys backpacking, skateboarding, and stumbling around Manhattan looking for a new museum to visit. He resides in Brooklyn, but regularly bikes around the city scouting out new thrift stores.
