Long-acting pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) will be a groundbreaking HIV prevention tool. The approach provides an option to receive intermittent doses of PrEP instead of taking daily pills. This handout provides an update on the development of long-acting PrEP and future prospects for the approach. The handout was developed in collaboration with the Black AIDS Institute, HIV Vaccine Trials Network, and Southern AIDS Coalition.
