In September, TAG hosted a free movie screening of “How to Survive a Plague” followed by an activist panel at the Housing Works Bookstore.
David France’s documentary “How to Survive a Plague” tells the story of how AIDS activists taught themselves science, forced their way into the research process, and changed the course of an epidemic when their government abandoned them in every sense of the word.
TAG was born out of that fight. Thirty years later, the lessons learned remain prominent and the fight for a more just world continues.
Thank you to everyone who came out to attend! Panelist speakers included: Mark Harrington, Nina Schwalbe, MPH, PhD, filmmaker David France, Gina Liu from VOCAL-NY, and Gregg Gonsalves.
