New York, June 25, 2021 — Treatment Action Group (TAG) joins the U.S. National TB Controllers Association (NTCA) in celebrating our dedicated and brilliant Senior Government Relations and Policy Officer, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Lovinger, who today received the 2021 Charles DeGraw TB Advocacy Award. The NTCA bestowed this honor upon Mx. Lovinger in light of her leadership and contributions over the last year to the fight against TB. NTCA especially noted Mx. Lovinger’s gracious leadership of the TB Roundtable, a coalition of organizations working in the U.S. to end TB both domestically and globally, as well as her staunch commitment to the empowerment and leadership of TB survivors.

“This award from NTCA, an invaluable partner in the struggle to end TB, is welcome public recognition of the talent, collaboration, and seemingly indefatigable spirit that Lizzy has brought to TB advocacy since she joined TAG nearly three years ago,” said Suraj Madoori, TAG’s U.S. and Global Health Policy Director. “We are so proud to call her our colleague and grateful for her leadership toward ending TB.”

“Lizzy embodies the spirit of the Charles DeGraw TB Advocacy Award,” said Donna Hope Wegener from NTCA. “She has been an effective and consistent champion for the cause of ending TB, rising to multiple challenges which have presented during the past two years. The TB community and our advocacy work would not be where we are today without Lizzy’s commitment and dedication to this effort. We are very grateful to her and look forward to working with her in the coming years.”
