Dedication
TAG dedicates our sponsorship of this workshop to the memory of our colleague Mark Milano (April 28, 1956 – January 3, 2026).
Information on Mark’s extraordinary history as an activist is available online, including his essential work advocating for global access to affordable antiretroviral therapy. Mark was also a treatment educator passionately dedicated to providing accurate information to the people he served, and while HIV cure research wasn’t a central focus he kept up with developments to ensure he could provide a reality-based perspective when sometimes misleading and hyped-up stories appeared in the mainstream media. Mark will be massively missed, and we send our heartfelt condolences to his partner, family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew him.
Acknowledgements
TAG is profoundly grateful to our colleagues Michael Louella, Bridgette Picou, Louis Shackelford, Jeff Taylor, Danielle Campbell, and Raif Derazi for helping run the workshop onsite in Denver. Michael facilitated the Zoom broadcast and has provided the linked recordings via the defeatHIV YouTube channel. We also thank all the presenters, attendees, and Zoom registrants.
